Pain in left lung

I got my band 1 week ago 08/26/06. Everything went well with the surgery and the recovery. The only porblem I'm having is pain in my lower left lung. It started 3 days ago. I can't take deep breaths because I feel a stabbing pain. Has anyone had this problems?

you need to talk to your doctorASAP!!!!!!! How is your breathing? it could just be gas pain, but not in the lungs. Hopefully you are just feeling it there and it's not actually in the lung!

YES!! I had that, and it turned out to be a partially collapsed lung---the most common cause of post-surgery fever. Get to your doctor so you can make sure it's not an embolism (clot in your lung) and rule out pneumonia. They told me it is fairly common.

Call your doc or go to the ER now. I had the same problem 5 days post op and it hurt a lot to breath. My doc sent me to the ER to check the lung for a clot (can be life-threatening). It's a few simple scans/tests to check it. Mine wasn't a clot, but better safe...
