About Me

  • State
    VA
Weighed 163 out of high school, went to college, got married, got pregnant and shot up to 289 pounds right before the birth of my first child (had toxemia).  Developed hypothyroid during the pregnancy and many female problems afterward, and have been fighting my weight since then.  Tried to qualify for insurance to cover GBP with Dr. Schroder in the 90s but the insurance company said I did not have any co-morbidities and would not pay.  Continued to yo-yo but never below 220 or so.  At 236, went to see Dr. Schroder again in 2008, and decided to pay out of pocket for the lap band.  I am currently down to 175 with 15 pounds til goal and have been exploring my plastic surgery options to get rid of the loose skin and give the girls a lift.  I am off of blood pressure medicine and all of my blood work work is great save a Vitamin D deficiency I take supplements for.  It has been a long, tough road but I would do it again - I know I made the right choice.  Thanks for stopping by!
