  19. Its been a while since I have been on here. Its been 16 months since my surgery. I went from 270 to 135. I am almost to goal. Its true what they say about the honeymoon period enjoy it while it lasts. Hunger comes back again. Some good days and some bad days but a good support group can help you get through that. Take what you learned in nutrition and utilize it to the fullest. I have NO regrets. This surgery helped me get to to a weight that I can feel motivated to STAY AT! Gives you reason to fight to stay there! I have been lucky and SO FAR no issues at all post op. Here is an updated photo. Until next time... yours truly, Melissa.
  20. I'm not sure why but quest bars make me feel like I have the flu.

  22. Well it's been 9 months almost and I am doing good no complications my hunger has returned but no where near what it used to be. I don't have any major dumping issues so I still have to hold myself accountable what I put in my mouth. Trick is not grazing all day long. Stick with my scheduled eating. I'm now weighing in 145 lbs. I have been slacking on working out as my work outs usually involve being outside and I am in the midwest so ..... self explanatory. I will be picking back up soon I am now out of the overweight range. My ultimate goal was 130 so I'm still aiming for that by end of summer hopefully. Hope everyone is doing well and had a good Easter with your families and friends . Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. Thought I would check in today.. had my first follow up appointment yesterday- things going well. Healing good. Losing weight. Yesterday was tricky though since it was out of my normal routine I found it really hard to keep track of my fluids Vitamins and Protein drinks!! Making it priority today. I am feeling blah and not sure what it is. Or maybe I do... I have 5 kids (2 toddlers and 3 teenagers.) Few days ago our basement flooded (pump broke) ruined the AC circuit board so no AC for like 4 days now...have window AC put in and sheets nailed up over the doorways ways to keep the first floor cool though. AC guy supposed to come today. I cant keep up with the house as I am still sore and cant exactly able to move like used to. Husband been spending his time fixing the pump cleaning up basement back and forth to the stores to get parts...when he was supposed to take over MY job and deal with the kids while im in recovery so I don't have have too much stress to worry about but that has not been happening. We have all been confined to the first floor and im about to pull hair. I'm hoping this gets easier down the road :/ Still no regrets though.
  24. My bad it was on Monday.
  25. I had mine done on Tuesday in Springfield Illinois. I think I'm doing okay so far *knock on wood* Still sore across my upper belly like a tight belt but nothing Tramadol (spell?) can't handle.
  26. I gotta tell us I tried a cup of sugar free jello yesterday and it took me over an hour!! It's shocking. Ya* not us. Spell check is making me so mad lately ????
  27. I've been drinking premier protein it 11oz and 30g of protein. 160 calories. I drink 2 a day but it is an effort. Like a job. I'm working on my last bottle of water now which will take me till bedtime 16 oz and I got all my vitamins in today which is a first.
  28. I wonder if they are experimenting which bariatric centers have best results. Like some kind of study. Which would explain the huge differences.
  29. Day 5 post op mine don't really hurt but I'm pretty sure it's because I'm in pain Meds!
  30. Oh tell me about it! I drop things constantly and when I do I'm like forget it and walk off LOL I'm sure you are fine.
  31. I was told we can have G2
  32. My last post "tummy looks small" was supposed to be nice incisions LOL ...drugs .... what can I say? My tummy actually looked like I was 6 months pregnant again and hard.. full of gas they kept saying it will pass soon soon it will pass ...4 days until i finally started getting rid of that gas wow!!! ( TMI - sorry) Now I am at home doing so much better.. it was difficult getting fluids in at first I know logically that it wasn't going to be forever but still emotionally it felt like it was. today I hit my protien target 60g and I drank 2 bottles of water plus ONE of my vitamins ..ha its a start! Getting better every day. Today I even walked down the street and back with my daughter. I know we aren't supposed to weigh in this early but curiosity got the best of me and I am down 5 lbs. Nice.... Follow up on Tuesday.
  33. So I had my surgery on the 6th was supposed to go home by today but they want me to stay another day because I have not been getting enough fluids. 1-2 oz per hour. They want me to drink 5-6 oz per hour. That seems like a lot. ???? I miss my babies at home. Other than that everything else is okay. Trying to pass this gas which doesn't seem to want to come out. I burp a few times though but that's it.
