Should I get a fill?

I was banded on January 29th 2009 and have lost 50lbs. I have been happy and want to stay where I am at. However it seems as though the band is not working the same. I have been able to eat more including pasta and I have noticed that I am able to drink much quicker after eating. I have a 10cc band with a 5cc fill. What everyones experinces and thoughts?

Hi eyeinthesky,

I am in maintenance mode (not trying to lose anymore) and I have so far needed a small 'top up' fill every 5 months or so.

In fact I got one last Friday. My weight has been stable for over 6 months but lately I noticed I was able to eat more, was taking a long time to get full (sometimes I DIDN'T get full even, and had to stop myself from eating more than I should have) and then in the last month, I put on 2kgs (about 5lbs). So I went back to see my Dr and got a 0.25ml fill. It seems to have done the trick, and I'm feeling restriction again, and have already lost 2 of those 5lbs.

So if you're not feeling a good level of restriction anymore, go get another fill. The band is there for you to use it, so use it well.
