Surgery this Thursday

I have surgery this Thursday and I am excited and scared all wrapped up in one! I hope that because of my age and lack of major health concerns everything will go well. I am not very impressed with the support groups that I have been to because they mix the banded patients with the bypass patients. It should be great to get support here!

Good luck with your upcoming surgery! I'm sure you're going to have a great experience! I've only been on this site for a few days and have already had so many of my questions answered. :cursing:

Don't be nervous! When checking me in and going through my medical history and allergies right before surgery the nice nurse had me confirm that I was indeed getting banded. Also you should see your surgeon, so you know he's got you covered :cursing:.

Being banded was the best thing I ever did for myself and even in recovery I was so so happy. I hope you'll feel the same because it's a wonderful sensation.

How did everything go???

Thanks Andrew for your concern! The surgeon said that the surgery went perfectly. I had a hiatal hernia that I had NO idea about!!! The port incision doesn't bother me...it is all of the gas that came from the air they pumped into me. It has been a killer. If that gas would go away, I would feel human again! I also realized that the doctor gave me pain medications for a reason. I tried to not take them yesterday and by the end of the day, I was in bad shape...once I took them, I felt great. I think I'm too fiesty and want to be 100% right now...but I realize it will take time. Congratulations on your success!

Thank you K-Joy and Erin Marie for your support before surgery! It was nice to know that there are other people "out there" who are supportive and know what I am going through!
