2-week pre op diet struggles

I am in my second week of al all liquid pre-op diet. The only things I can have is Carnation Instant Breakfast 3x's daily with Skim Milk, broth, SF Jello, pudding, Crystal Light and flavored waters. I can have a can of tomato Soup or yogurt once a day. It has been the most difficult experience of my life. I am completely motivated and determined to make this work. I have been overweight all my life. Only in my dreams have I been skinny and healthy. Only I can make this dream come true.

My advice to anyone who is struggling....stay motivated. Read these blogs, go onto youtube and see the results from others who have had the lapband (their stories are inspiring) and tell yourself that it is all worth it!

Good Luck to everyone!

Hi I readed your blog. And its motivating. I was banded on 10/02/09 its not easy figuring out what to eat or not eat. And easy to think about food especially when your watching t.v.. I lost 20 pounds I dont know if thats good or not. But I am hopeful.:blushing:

I am 3 days into my pre-op diet. It is a struggle. I am keeping myself positive and looking towards the end result. I take it minute by minute, hour by hour, and day by day. You are doing great!! Don't give up!! You are almost there. :blushing: I wish I was that far already but I will get there eventually. Congrats to you making it this far already!!

Something that really helped me was Egg Drop Soup... I went to my favorite Chinese restaurant and got a big "togo" container. I added a little chicken broth too it to extend it. It really helped me for some reason. My doc said my liver was "great" when I had my surgery... so, it definitely didn't do any wrong!

You will make it through.. I am now two months post op, had my 2nd fill on Thursday and couldn't be happier!!:blushing: The pre-op diet is the hardest part... hang in there!!!
