Hysterectomy, port disconnected

Recommended Posts

Just recently had a hysterectomy for endometrial cancer and when the doctor reached into my incision a tube came out which should have been connected to my port. He called my surgeon while I was on the table and he told him to place the tube in my abdomen and he would take care of it laprascopically. Has anyone had this problem. I know I now have no restriction in my lap band. I think the Fluid is gone. I can tell the difference.mad.gif

Doggone it, Diane, that stinks. I am having a TT in a few months and am worried that will happen to me. I had a complete unfill a few weeks ago and gained 9 pounds in 2 weeks. I hope you do better than me.

I also hope your recovery goes smoothly.

Best wishes,

Mimi

Oh no, I'd be very upset having to have even a slight surgery done after hyster. I just had one done Davinci Robotic lap method 9/3 for early cancer. I'm sorry this happened to you. My lapband surgeon insisted I have a total unfill before surgery. I am going in to get a fill next week. Hopefully everything is in it's place! I hope they fix yours easily.

I'm scheduled to have my port reconnected on 11/16. Can't wait as I have been steadily gaining weight. My lap band surgeon didn't feel it necessary to unfill before my hysterectomy which was done with the DaVinci Robot. He did, however, unfill for my gallbladder surgery which was done l0/08. It took all that time from then to get to almost my sweet spot when I lost it all during my hysterectomy when my port tubing was cut. I feel like I'm starting over again...but I don't have to have chemo or radiation since it was a Stage I cancer with no lymph nodes involved. That's the good part. Thanks for your support!:)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
