Hi Carmen and Ginger,
Thanks for your replies. My outlook seems to change daily about my impending (sounds so negative!) banding. I am, of course, excited and hopeful, but some days I just can't seem to believe that I am really going to do this. Some days I picture myself thinner and think about all the advantages, and some days I get discouraged and think that there is no way this will ever work--nothing else has. And some days I get scared thinking of PBing and how I might at the least embarrass myself or at the worst choke. I am a control freak and do not deal well with the unknown. I have conversations with myself daily that it is like any other change, and I will learn to deal with it successfully. Geez, I really sound like a nut case, eh? I do so appreciate your comments and encouragement. Ginger, congratulations on your 19 pounds; that's awesome!
