Shrinking Violets - Part 5!

Here you go, my Sweet Violets! Another new home for our daily musings....

"Thus nature has no love for solitude, and always leans, as it were, on some support; and the sweetest support is found in the most intimate friendship."

Judy, I agree with Michelle!!

I am glad to hear your mother in law is getting around better and no chemo!!! Scary thing to go through.

Laura, what is a Lovey?

LOL Judy...you naughty natty! I am glad SOMEONE is getting some "relaxing" in these days! Opps, did I just say that outloud.

Watching the new Survivor...I love the first one...it is always fun to see dynamics at play. Shambo and Russell already bugging me and it has been 9 min!

Have a great night!

I can't believe the Russell guy, or the other guy on his team that attacked Marissa the whole time.. they didn't show us what his beef with her is about but he is so volitile.. Russell, it's obvious he's just a psychopath.

Good Friday Morn, Vi's~~

After aqua ai chi yesterday, I did something @ the Y that I'd never done before (& no, it's not "pee in the pool" as dd suggested, lol!)... I soaked in the bubbly hot tub! It felt good and reminded me a *bit* of "taking the waters" in Palm Springs... except for the part where I was sharing the waters w/a wrinkly old dude...

Today's a regular day... laundry, house stuff, grocery shopping, work... what a life!

7 days 'til Disney!

Make it a great day!

I am up, not motivated at all. I need someone to kick me so I can get motivated!!!

Good morning, Violets..

Woke up after two hours of sleep last night with acid reflux. That's the second night in a row. I don't know what that's about except that I'm eating/snacking just before going to bed. Will have to try really hard not to do that again. I was up from 1-3. I was scared to go back to sleep for fear that it would happen again. I gave in and slept until 8:45. We'll probably miss the free breakfast here, but I really don't feel like eating anything... ever again. Course that will change in 10 minutes. But I can't tell you how much I hate the reflux. It feels like I'm choking to death and the taste is beyond words. I thought I was done with that when I got the band.

The Bobster and I are having a lazy day today. Shopping, Sam's club, casino and taking our own time doing it.

Everyone have a great day!!

Judy that is no fun. I had that for a couple months last year. I don't know what it is about either.

Hi Girls~

LOL Michelle...@ the wrinkly old dude. Remember the naked black lady and me droppin' F bombs cause I couldn't breathe! That one got me. I should use my gift card and do it again, because of all this congestion. You should pop over and go w/ me!

So, as if I couldn't get any prettier, I have this sore thingy on my nose from blowing for a week (still am way plugged up), and I popped a Veneer off my front tooth yesterday. Not the front 2, but the one to the left of the front one. Yeah...I am looking really cute. Plus the fact that I am sooo puffy and still have those "I don't feel good" eyes.

I hope all the V's have a great day! And a Safe and Restfull weekend!

xooxoxox

Judy, hope that goes away! Does milk help? I don't know, just think it would!

LOL! oh yeah! So funny! That poor (nekkid) woman trying to get her zen on in the sauna and the 4 of us troop in and cause mayhem! Oh man, good times, good times!

Ok, now THIS deserves a photo to go along w/it!! Let's see Dr. J in all her glory!!

Laura -

thought I would let you know... you can taste the coconut, but the smell is much stronger than the taste. I have a super sniffer so maybe that is why I taste it because I smell it so strong... I don't know but my egg is pretty good...

hope you all have a good day

((Judy))... that reflux @ night is the WORST! Try to prop up your head on a couple pillows, & yeah, don't eat for a few hours before going to bed. Other than that... enjoy your trip!!

((Janie))...didn't find a "kick me" smilie, but here's a  and a  and also consider yourself:boink:. Hope it helps!

Jane, here's a lovey (it's just another name for a security blanket)..

Michelle, Aqua Tai Chi sounds awesome and there is nothing better than soaking in a bubbly hot tub after a good workout, except maybe hanging out in the sauna, lol.

Judy, I have suffered with reflux every night this summer before my band was replaced. It is awful and it really tears your throat up. I ended up with a perpetual cough that was only due to irritation in my throat. I really hope you feel better soon. I did have it last summer as well before I got pregnant but a small un-fill instantly fixed it.

Pamela, Have you ever heard of a neti-pot? I had continuous sinus issues and congestion due to allergies for almost all of my adult life but they are almost non-existent now. A neti-pot works great if you are really congested or sick but I actually just cup my hand and snort some water up my nose about three times in a row every day (not strong enough to go anywhere but in the sinus cavity) and then I blow it back out and it has eliminated 90% + of my problems without medication. A quick search lead me to this website if you are curious to see it: http://www.healingdaily.com/exercise/neti-pot.htm. It looks gross and sounds gross but it really works . . . sorry if I sound like a commercial.

I have to say that if I made eggs in coconut oil every morning for breakfast . . . I would lose a lot of weight because the thought kind of grosses me out, lol.

Laura, I didn’t know what a lovey was either at first. I actually have 2 as gifts and didn’t even know what they were called, lol. They have silken borders that Ayla loves to slobber on. J I guess you learn something new everyday.

My son had some bad experiences in daycare at about ages 2-3 and I went to private in-home care. However, I know there are a lot of good daycares out there and one bad experience doesn’t mean anything in the larger scheme of things. Every daycare is different. Your best bet when you are searching is to pop in at different times of day and see if they will give you a walk-through of all the rooms so you can get a feel for the atmosphere. I would never recommend going during open house times because you know that everyone is geared up for company. I think daycare can be very good for learning socialization skills at that age if you have an only child or if other children in the household are considerably younger.

Ayla actually goes to my best friends mother-in-law. She is Turkish and does not speak more than a handful of words in English but this is fine for us because we speak the same language. We are happy with this because we want her to be fully bilingual and she gets tons of English exposure but she will need more Turkish exposure since we primarily speak English at home (unless my son is listening in on a private conversation and we don’t want him to know what we are saying, lol). She is absolutely wonderful and I know that Ayla is very well cared for every day.

Janie, as far as the kick me goes . . . I am sending one your way, lol. Actually for me, it is always hard to find motivation again but if I can find the strength to stay on task for 1 week, it gets soooo much easier and becomes second nature afterwards for at least a few weeks to a few months.

Ayla got transferred from our room and bassinet/our bed occasionally to her crib in her own room about two weeks ago. It worked beautifully. Most nights she sleeps from 10:00 to 4:00 or 5:00 AM, drinks a bottle for about 20 minutes and then sleeps again until 7:00 or so. The night before last she didn’t wake up for her early morning feeding. I would say for all intents and purposes she is sleeping through the night unless she is feeling a little sick and then that flies out the window. My son never slept through the night until he was more than one year old. I tried to let him cry it out but it didn’t work. Every child is soooo different it can be amazing. Perhaps if I had Ayla first I would have more than 2 kids, lol.

Haydee, I would make my own invitations but that is just me. So I was wondering, if you plan weddings for other people, does that make planning your own super easy to do? Do you get huge business discounts on items because of your profession?
