I'm so excited to have my surgery scheduled for Sept. 19. My case is a little unusual b/c I live in Turkey and am having my procedure done in Turkey, and all my paperwork is in Turkish and my poor dear husband has to translate it all for me! I have my last consultation on the 11th, where I assume (?) I'll be put on a liquid diet for the week leading up. I've heard different things from different people, so perhaps in Turkey the process is a little different as well.

Anyway, I'll be needing the extra support b/c we don't have any in-person support groups I can attend. My husband is great, but I really don't want to lean on my in-laws, who can't understand what it's like to make a choice to do this.

Congratulations on getting your date. Mine is the 4th. Not too nervous yet. My doctor has me on clear liquids 2 weeks before surgery and 2 weeks after. Didn't think I could do it, but I am proud to say that I have not cheated at all. I have a very supportive husband also and he helps keep me on the straight and narrow. LOL
