very weak

I'm just curious...i was just banded on 9/18/09. My surgeon has me on strict liquids for 4 weeks. I am not getting alot of neutrition during this and he doesn't have me on any vitiamins yet. should i be worried about lack of protien? or other neutriants? i feel weak but im sure it is simply just getting over surgery.:(

I think you mean 8/18? :(

Honestly most of us have enough fat stores so that, as long as we are hydrated, we can handle going without nutrition for a while. I'm sure you had blood work and so on; he wouldn't have put you on such a diet if it jeopardized your health. You wouldn't want to take Vitamins on an empty stomach anyway.

I'm sure you're just healing and truthfully some people feel weak because they expect to, not eating. Try to focus on how much weight you are likely losing and how much you'll enjoy being thinner, see if that helps.

AND also if you feel really bad, call your surgeon. He's the pro!

If he has you on a dietary restriction it is sure to have Protein in it. If you have questions call the office--they should be willing to reassure you. I would also ask about the weakness. It is better to be safe then sorry! Good luck!

You don't know me but I wanted to tell you that I miss your smiling friendly face on the LBT "banner". Change isn't ALWAYS good.

Awwwww! Thank you! That is so sweet! You are just what I need today. Having a bad day and that made me smile!

Glad I could help lift your spirts...your happy face always lifted mine! :(

Sweetbrandie, My surgeon gave me chewable vitamins to take after my surgery. I liked them so well I still take them. You may want to ask your surgeon if you can do something like that?
