3 weeks of carnation

Has anyone had to do 6 carnation no sugar shakes a day? This is going to be the hardest thing Ive ever did besides quitting smoking! This may be HARDER. I have a family to feed as well. Is this going to be impossable?

I had to do the carnation shakes as well. It sucked!! Did some very unpleasant things to my stomach , TMI but I'm trying to be truthful. That being said, as sucky as the pre op diet it was, I now know it was well worth it. It's gonna suck but you can do it!!!

Does it HAVE to be Carnation? Or any Protein shake? My clinic recommended Opti-fast, but I went with Atkins Advantage shakes. I liked them better than several I've tried, and I still drink one every morning for Breakfast.

What worked for me was scheduling my shakes. I was getting up early, so I had my first one at 6 am. Then every 3 hours I had another one. 6-9-12-3-6-9. This way you know when you'll have your next one and it breaks the day down to manageable hurdles.

Drink lots of Water. Stay BUSY! Clean house, work in the yard, ANYTHING that keeps you out of the kitchen and away from food temptations. When you have to cook meals, do it! Then while the family is eating, go take a walk or maybe take a bath. Do something positive for yourself. Go to the other end of the house and reflect on the good things that will happen in just a few more days.

Okay, yeah...it stinks!!! But, it's not forever. It's a couple of weeks... You can do this!
