3 full days post op!!!

Physically I am feeling pretty good. Mentally I'm having a little bit of trouble! I'm really struggling with the "what the hell have I done to my self" feelings. I'm starving. liquids are playing havoc on my bathroom time. I want something solid to eat so badly. My post op requires 2 weeks of liquids. I went to full liquids today. I want to chew something. I think I'll get me some sugar free gum.

I have been able to feel my band since day one. I can feel it around my stomach. I hate that weird feeling I get every time I swallow. I noticed this afternoon that it was not as noticeable as today. I gave my self a little scare, I was griping at my son for not putting away the groceries correctly, forgot what I was doing reach down and grabbed my juice and started chugging it. It was a couple of swallows before I realized what I was doing. I guess the swelling is going down, because it passed on through with no restriction.

For dinner tonight I ran the lasagna my family had through the blender with broth. It was pretty good, it did have some bits but they were very small. It hasn't seemed to bother me. I made sure to drink lots of liquid with it. I'm so ready to start the mushy phase. I feel like I could, but I'm going to stick to the dr.'s direction, because everyone says it is so important.

My biggest question is.....am I going to be able to do this?????? I WANT FOOD!

Patty

PS. it is so sad because I'm sitting here contemplating licking the left over garlic bread....how sick is that????

My thoughts EXACTLY Darce- it just surprise me how people who are screaming in for the first time -felt so GD entitled to berade the crap out of all of us who have been here supporting eachother since the beginning ! i am not disputing the vadility of their message and I think that there experience is a GOLDEN Opportunity to teach us--but there is a right way and the wrong way that is just gonna make most people revert to our teen years and let it go in one ear and out the other and that would be a DAMN shame, because I know what they are saying and trying to teach us is priceless !!!!

Beth- thanks for hearing my message and I look forward to your experience and post that will guide us that are just learning and making mistakes because we just dont know better right now !!

For others deciding to CHIME in now, I hope you remeber what the uncertainty and the emotions that you were going throug at the begining and have some thought before you jump in !!

With that said this is my last post on this thread since it is becoming a useless discussion and not helpful to those that really need the support !!!

All the vets here have done the post op diet. It is not something one forgets. I've done it twice. First one was two weeks of clears, 2 weeks of fulls, 2 weeks of soft foods. Next one was 10 day stages of the same.

Please do not assume we have somehow forgotten those times of our lives. Sometimes the truth just hurts, it's life. It's how it is.

What? I know I've been around here for over a year, Beth that long too. How you choose to react to any given situation is in each individual's control. No one "makes" a person revert to his/her teen years. I know we all should get along and there's a nice way and a mean way to say things but honestly that is just BS. If you don't like it, don't read it. You're a grown up. Act like one. And it's berate not berade. Sorry to be petty but the person screaming on here the most seems to be you. We all try to "discuss the idea" and not the person. Facts are if you cheat post op it can hurt you. Sugar coating things isn't on most of our diet plans.

If you don't like my posts, don't read them. We all have that right, fortunately! There are posters I avoid; but I don't attack them either. I find your behavior as bad, or worse, than hers actually.

And she huffed and she puffed and she stormed out of here with the greatest of drama! ;o)

Holy HELL. :thumbup:

Yep... so when people come here whining of two weeks or so of full liquids or even clears... bah! BTDT plus some.

It took me a year before I could eat Jello again. I do not eat broth to this day. If it is Soup it has to be creamy or I gag. What do you think keeps me on the straight and narrow? I'm NEVER doing a revision or WLS of ANY type EVER again! ;o) The hell with the surgery, I don't want to do a post op diet again.

HH...huffing and puffing? You're not suggesting that you're full of hot air, are you??!!

.

No...actually, that would appear to be something that YOU'RE suggesting. It's not the first time....nor will it be the last......

HH

I'll just close my eyes and think of you....better than viagra ANY day....:thumbup:

Awwwwwww, this is why you have alllll the ladies of LBT clutching their heart and making big deep vocal sighs as you walk by.

//Sigggghhhhhhhhh//

But, make no mistake. I called dibs on you first. You are MINE!

I think, honest to God, that it is WAY more unkind to tell a person they are fine, when they may not be, than it is to call someone out. And Beth's delivery shouldn't detract from her message. Futher it should NOT "make anyone" act like a teenager.

If you want to keep it private, take it to PM (that's what the P stands for, private) or email each other. But facts are facts.

And I have been on here FOREVER and usually don't lose my temper but today I just finally had enough, I guess. If Formerfat had let it die, it would've. But I'll back out now and remember if I see certain people headed off the cliff to just smile and wave! :thumbup: NBD I can do that! :)

Hey Monkey RN....

I do believe this is the first time I have ever seen this side of you. Could it be???? Could it??? Are HH and I rubbing off on you?

HH...I'm just playing with you!! LOL!

I know....I forgot the smiley.......:thumbup::biggrin::):biggrin::wub:

Hmmm....you did mention the "package"....and then you said "playing with me".....hmmmmm

I hear you RM. There is one young soul who keeps posting questions on one of the main boards that is driving...me...NUTS.

As for the advice....I'm okay with stern warnings.....some people respond to a gentler approach. I think anyone who steps up and makes an effort to help someone else should be commended....afterall it IS easier to just look the other way.

The Pretender series that was on a few years ago? I LOVED that show....wish it had grabbed a bigger audience.
