Pre dertermination for uhc

I just called the insurance company UHC and they have no information for my pre dertermination yet.

I had my consult last Tuesday and discussed with the MD that I would like to be cleared by insurance before I spend all the money on the additional testing. He agreed and said things would be sent to the insurance company right away. Almost one week pasted and nothing.

Has anyone else done it this way? do you think this will make my chances of approval less?

There are very specific guidelines that UHC has for your particular policy. At least some of the tests you are holding off on are probably required for final approval but unless the results of the tests make you ineligible, they can't deny you the surgery if it is a covered procedure that you are entitled to.
