Approved for surgery, now what????

Just wondering what your experiences were? I got my letter yesterday (7-17-09) that I was approved for surgery!!! :thumbup:Just wondering how long it was then before your surgery. When I met with the surgeon on (7-9-09) he said it would be at least 3 weeks from approval. Did you find that in your case? Just curious. Thanks Lori

After I had all of my testing done and the approval was in from the insurance company, my surgery was scheduled for about 2-3 weeks away. My doc doesn't schedule the surgery until you've lost nearly all of the weight required.

My approval didnt take as long as it was supposed to either. I think I had surgery about 9 days after I was approved, it went super super quick. Good luck to you!^_^

If your doc said 3 weeks, then that is probably what it is for his practice. It depends of course on your surgeon and the facility he uses for the surgery (hospital etc) So each person will have a different take on it. Mine was about a week as I recall...from approval to OR.

I got my approval last week and they gave me my surgery date the same day!!!! Im scheduled for Novemeber 3!!!! I was so pleasantly suprised, and started the pre-op diet right away! Im going in tomorrow for all my labs and my pre-op appointment is 11/26. Excited and nervous right now!
