Im self pay because my insurance wont pay for lapband my question is will I even have to tell them about the surgery and can they drop me for getting this surgery?

I don't think they can just drop you for such a thing. They won't pay for the surgery. Also know that they may not pay for any potential complications resulting from getting the surgery.

I don't think you have to tell them either, but I would still submit all bills to them in hopes that they would pay for something. I wouldn't necessarily make it a secret.

I would think your insurance would be thrilled for 2 reasons. 1 they didn't have to pay it, and 2 when you lose the weight you will be at much lower risk than before. I wouldn't worry about them finding out. I can think of no reasons why they would drop you

I am in the same situation. If you pay yourself you "should" have no worries. Call and ask to be certain.
