Apprehensive

Hi all,

I am due to have my lap band done with Dr Chris on 07/07/09 and I am doing my pre op diet at the moment. It has taken me a good couple of years to save for this so as you can expect I am slightly worried.

My worry isnt at all over the operation but I am the sort of person that needs to have all the details arranged....

what i'm concerned about is the consultation the night before in the hotel..... has anyone else opted to do this? I have emailed Dr Chris and told him where I am staying but I have no other details, like what time the consulatation is or what happens then. I know we have to pay then too which makes me feel like i could be handing all that money over to a stranger. I know I am probably worrying for nothing - can anyone give me some advise????

my advice to you is to have the payment made at the hospital even if you have to take a taxi there before hand. request a witness be (preferably have someone you know with you) there for the receipt. i do not like the sound of this "consultation" and "payment" at your hotel room. i am sure that you can do it in a way where it is not insulting to the the doctor.

do be careful... and the best of luck to you!!

That's strange. I've never heard of doing this before. I would definitely not pay anywhere but at the hospital itself. Also, pay with a verifiable form of payment like a credit card. Surgery is a lot of money and I would not take any risks with your hard earned cash.
