question about sugar

All or most of the food lists i see say 'sugar free' or 'no sugar added' items. Is this for weight loss reasons, or is there another reason. I know the gastric by-pass surgery patients must avoid sugar because it causes dumping. is there a similar result with banding?

Lap band patients do not have dumping like bypass patients do, however sugar free, and no sugar added products are healthier for you.

thats what i figured.

i get banded this weds. im starting to get nervous. and now after reading the forums, im afraid of thick liver! my dr. did not put me on any pre-surgery special diet. i havent gone crazy lately, but its a far cry from a liquid diet.

keeping my fingers crossed all goes smoothly...

good luck to you and congrats
