Not banded yet - what will replace popcorn?

Ok, I guess after being banded, I won't snack or want to snack?? I know I won't be able to have popcorn. (This is my sweet, salty, crunchy satisfier)

Any former popcorn junkies out there? What did/do you do?

39,

At the begining, I just would not allow myself to snack. I followed the band rules. NOW I do snack some. Like Jachnut, I have no problem with popcorn. I get the mini bags with the lowest calorie count I can find.. MODERATION. I also snack on sunflower seeds....... I am a seed spitter !!!!!!! Absolutly no problems with them either, also nuts. Very high protein, BUT high fat and calories.

MIND YOU, I have been very, very strick with what I would allow myself to eat until the last few months, and am trying differant things.

best of luck

Lois

I have no problem with popcorn either. Everyone is different, you may or may may not have a problem with it. Some people have trouble with a lot of things, and some people like me have very little trouble. The only things that bother me are bread and french fries.

I too have no problems with popcorn, though when I eat it I make sure I just put one piece at a time in my mouth. That way I can make sure it is chewed very well.

I eat three meals and two Snacks a day. For the most part I use my snacks to get in more Protein though...which popcorn is not .

At the health food store I found some soy chips. they look like a rice cake but have WAY more flavor. they come in BBQ, white Cheddar and cinnamon. they are delicious, low in calorie, low in fat and HIGH in protein. They are by Paul Newman, or Newman's own or something like that. Not a bad deal.

Thanks SO MUCH for the responses.

At least I can hold onto the hope that after some weightloss I might be able to "indulge" in popcorn occasionally. I usually have the 100 calorie Pop Secret or Orville Kettle Corn. AND I split it with my kids. It's mostly to satisfy the cravings I mentioned. :D

My "danger" foods have always been pizza and ice cream :tt2: (and rotisserie chicken!) so I think I'm ok with portion control on this particular snack.
