five year weight history.....

Hers what Im worried about. I have BCBS-IL. and they say yes if your morbidly obese (100lbs or more which i am barely) and if you have a verified proof of weight going back five years. Im over 100lbs over weight now but when I go back five years I wasnt. maybe 75 or so... My point is do I have to have been obese for 5 years or morbidly obese for the entire five years?

I had BCBS of LA. I gave a 5 year weight history also. I think if you were consistently overweight then that is probably enough. It is showing a patter of moving upward and not slowly down. The person who would know more, though, is the insurance people at your surgeon's office. I can assure you they have submitted someone from your insurance company before, and will probably know about what you will need to qualify. They knew right away at my surgeon's office exactly how long it would take form my approval with what I gave them.

Bottom line is, don't worry about it. Send what you have, because you can't change the past weight history.Good luck.

I finally called my BCBS insurance this morning and they said the same thing to me. And I too have the same problem I have been overweight for about 10 years like you again 60-80 until this last year its been 100 pounds overweight. I am still going to try. My next step is to get get with my doctor.

Exarmy keep in touch and let me know what happens as I will do the same. Sounds like we are in the same exact boat.
