  1. Way to go. So happy for you. This should give others HOPE!! :blushing:
  2. Thank you all for your suggestions and support! I am going to look into different places today. Thank goodness I found all this out beforehand! I just hope that all the work I have done so far will tranfer to the new place I choose:crying:
  3. Should I be worried? I found out that my surgeon has only performed this lap band surgery on 3 other people. I would be the 4th. This program was first established in December. But I was not aware that I would be one of the first to have this operation here. I have been wanting this surgery for a very long time. I have researched it for awhile now. I do not want to be a Guinea PIG! Should I start searching elsewhere for this to be done? I am in the jumping through the hoops stage right now. I met with my surgeon yesterday for my surgical evaluation. I have done the nutritional evaluation and have the psch evaluation scheduled for next week. I was told that after I was through with the rest of these steps I could schedule surgery but not before paying the $5000 surgeon's fee and the $1400 ansethesia charge upfront. I have BCBS insurance and am pretty sure they are going to pay for this. I have $1900 left to pay on my coinsurance. Why, if I have insurance am I being aske d to pay these costs upfront before surgery? Has anyone else had to do this? I am so confused. I need some good sound advise from someone that has been there. What would you do?
  4. Where in Wy are you? I am in Wheatland. Cheyenne would be closer to go but a doctor I see in Cheyenne suggested Dr. Mary McGuire in Casper. You really should call and see what is going on. No point in waiting any longet than you have to. Yes I was glad to find another person from WY too. We will have to keep each other informed.
  5. Hey there CreatingPSPfun. I also have BlueCross Blueshield of Wyoming, self pay. You will have to let me know how things go. I have an appointment in Casper on the 27th to meet with the surgeons manager to start process and then a seminar in Casper on May 6th. I haven't been tested for sleep apnea yet but I suspect I may have it. Who are you looking at for your surgeon? Good luck with everything. ReAnnah
  6. I finally called my BCBS insurance this morning and they said the same thing to me. And I too have the same problem I have been overweight for about 10 years like you again 60-80 until this last year its been 100 pounds overweight. I am still going to try. My next step is to get get with my doctor. Exarmy keep in touch and let me know what happens as I will do the same. Sounds like we are in the same exact boat.
  7. I will do it tomorrow! I am just not sure I am doing things in the right order. Cross your fingers for me. Good luck 2Legit I will be crossing my fingers for you, let me know.
  8. I am so scared to even call my insurance company to see if I qualify. I am afraid they might say no. I know you can fight them but ARRRGGGHH. I need some encouragement!
