December 09 bandsters checking in

So, all you December 2009 bandsters, how are you doing? Check in and let us know!

I just had my second fill. After my first I had no restriction, and my weight loss completely stalled. But I decided not to worry about it, just give my body time to adjust to the band and completely heal.

I just got my second fill two days ago and this morning was my first meal with it, and I'm finally feeling some restriction--whoopeeEEEeee!!! I have a GREAT nutritionist that I met with for an hour before I got the fill and she reviewed my food diary (I keep track of everything I eat) and gave me advise, and I'm excited to think I am finally on the road towards weight loss. The hospital pays for the bulk of her cost (as I just discovered) so I only had to pay $20, which was wonderful, being a self-pay patient. Fills cost me $250. :w00t:.

I had a slow start with the band, wasn't happy with how slow my recovery was, but at this point I feel nothing but encouraged and hopeful and glad that I did this for myself.

So, how are you doing?

I've had 3 fills and am felling pretty good restriction now.

My last fill was on 3-2 and I had lost 8 lbs since my last fill.

Very happy with my progress. I am learning what foods I can and cannot eat.........:lunch:

That's great progress!

I've been beeboping along. My weight loss has been steady and have had no problems with my fills. The last one was only .5cc and after my liquid to reg. food progression, I've not found that my hunger has drastically reduced.

So that concerns me a bit, but I figure this first year is all a learning curve. I'm loosing and not gaining, eating welll and exercising. I have to remind myself that my doc knows what amt to do the fills and even thought .5cc doesn't sound like alot he is more knowledgable than I am about this stuff.

I wonder how your doctor knows the amounts to use? Mine just uses exactly one cc each time. How much was in your band to start with? I've only had two fills.

So far, so good here.

I still haven't had a fill. I go back to the doctor next week (3/31). It will have been 6 wks since my last appt. and I've already lost 11 pounds since then, so I doubt I'll get a fill this time.

At this point, I can eat anything I want without a problem and I'm still not getting too hungry between meals. I don't know how much longer this will last though.

All in all, I'm happy with my band and my progress!

I guess I should post my goal for April...I'm thinking conservative at 245 lbs.
