lose too much pre-op

just curious...I am 5'3 was 185 so bmi of 32.7 last week, weighed myself this morning 181 - I am always +/- 5 lbs or so - so now that I started pre-op diet this mornnig...what if I get to the clinic for my surgery next week and am down 5 or 10 pounds - does that matter? Especially since all I would have to do is eat a meal or two and Im back to 185

hope that makes sense! Im just so scared to fly to Mexico and have them not do it11

I can't see why that would change anything. The decision on whether you qualify for surgery has already been made. You are supposed to lose weight on the pre-op diet.

OOO, that scares me too. My BMI is 33 and it was difficult to convince my Dr. to do the surgery to begin with, this question didn't even cross my mind. Please keep me posted. That is a good question.

just wanted to let you know - I went down to 31 bmi but that didnt seem to concern them...had the surgery dec 22 :frown:

I was 189,9 at deciding to do surgery...

184.9 pre-op

177 surgery day dec 22

170 today dec 29:thumbup:

Thanks for the input. Sounds like we are the same. I am going tomorrow to pre-register at the hospital. I started at 191 and I am down to 184 (5'4). Are you doing good? Any complications?

Mansaw,

You are had your surgery in Mexico???? Mine is being done in Birminham, Al. I am wondering if it is easier on someone who has a lower BMI, I figure the weight will come of slower, I am just guess on that. :frown:

I am only day 7 post - op. I am surprised by how easy everything was...I thought I would be way more sore....walk walk walk so you dont get as much gas!

I am 7 lbs down from surgery day :frown: Im not sure if its harder or easier for us :S

Boy, I stink at this, I could not find the thread, the reply came in on my blackberry and that helped me find the link, anyway. I sure hope mine goes that good, I have tried so hard to quite smoking and some days are better that others. I know once the surgery is done quitting is not an option.

 Im down 16 post op now...well I added a ticker so u can see my total from pre-op to now.

The plane ride was no problem. My friend came with me and she took care of any luggage I had. I mostly slept on the plane

Here is the link to make a ticker...

then u just cut and paste the link they give u into your signature on here!

Where/Where are you getting your surgery?

I could get my fills close to here - but I have choosen to go back to the OCC in Mexico - I met some great people there and use it as a little holiday! It would only cost me about $600 but I pay for my friend to come with me too - cuz we have lots of fun

I am getting my first fill feb 7  I am excited to be able to lose more! I go to Myan Riveira in June and July so hoping to be close to goal by then - which considering Im almost halfway to it now I think I should make it!

Do u have a lot to lose?

That sounds like fun!!! I have been going 2 hours away for fills, etc. I have about 40 pounds to loose and that will put me at 130-135, and for my height of 5'4. I sure hope to be at my goal by June before I go to Vegas for vacation. Sheeeez that would be so sweet. oooo I am being selfish aren't I??? I sure wish you all of the luck, you are doing great. I hope to get my first fill on Jan. 21st. That is why I was in such a hurry to get the surgery the first of Jan so that if I do fall short I will have time to catch up.

i was done in August 19. 2008 i weighed 156lbs, lost 9lbs with pre op diet and am now down to 116lbs have 22lbs to goal. I have lost now 44lbs. i am 4ft 7 and am quite surprised how quickly the weight has come off. i did hit a plateau around week 13 and it has lasted for about 6 weeks, i am on the down ward turn again now. good luck every one.
