Questions about pre-op Dr. visits

Im wondering who does my blood work? Is it when I go to the pulmonologist, or my PCP? Also, what are they looking for? Blood sugar, preganancy? I mean are there specific things that will hinder your approval? Obviously pregnancy would, but I mean exactly what are they trying to rule out? Also, what exactly will the pulmonologist do? I have a million questions, I should probably just go to the appts. and see what happens. I have this unquenchable desire to know exactly what is going to happen ahead of time.

My primary physician did all my blood work and my EKG then provided the release letter to my surgeon. They looked at a lot of things mainly the purpose to to make sure you are healthy enough for surgery and that there is nothing that could make you a poor candidate (untreated thyroid disease for example).

I didn't have to see a pulmonologist.
