Surgeon makes you wait 12 weeks for first fill????

I just had my consultation and am scheduled for my surgery for next wed 101 Dec and just found out that the surgeon will not give the first fill until after 12 weeks after surgery? That is three months...That just sounds way too long to wait. Anyone else had a surgeon make them wait this long?:cursing:

My surgeon makes you wait for at least 6 weeks. He told me this is due to swelling around the new pouch and it takes weeks for it to reduce. I was not hungry for the first 4-5 weeks after and had a hard time just getting in the water and needed protien.

Mine waits 6 for 1st but then fills SLOWLY. So that at 3 months out I'm at 3 cc's in a 14 cc band. He says his patients have great success with this slow rate. I trust him.

My doctor waits six weeks post op and then inserts 2ccs. She actually filled me with 3ccs at time of surgery and I have a 10cc band.
