I had to do that too. Man....me in line in the CRAZY waiting room for lab work being ALL KINDS of low blood sugary.....it wasn't pretty. I'm surprised everyone got out uninjured.

well fasting means nothing to eat or drink for a specified number of hours. most drs ask that you take any meds you normally take with as litlle water as possible. When i was fasting and came up with a dry mouth i would swish ans spit (in private of course). as if you were rinsiing your mouth out after having brushed your teeth.

I just did this recently, and I was told that coffee or tea with no sugar or milk was OK. I try to have my bloodwork done first thing in the a.m. to make this easier.

Thanks everyone....I got so thirsty that I called the hospital and spoke to a lab tech who told me that Water was just fine.

Never thought "just water" could be so appealing!
