GNC products

What GNC products are the best for protein shakes? They have lots of protein shakes that I am sure are for body building, but was wondering which ones are for meal replacements before/after banding. And which ones taste good.

p.s. i may be at the wrong place. I am having a little problem navigating through the forum :smile2:

I personally really like the "Max Protein" there. If you get one bottle, the 2nd one is half price. One scoop will give you 28 grams of protein. I like the "cookies and cream" flavor the best. I put that in a shake with 1/2 a banana and some ice and blend it all together. It is really delicious and very good for you. Just remember that you need a shake in high protein and low carb.

That is the one the nutritionist recommended but I don't see it on the gnc website. There are some promax products but nothing called Max Protein.... Maybe I am looking in the wrong place... :)

Thanks for the reply. I will have to go by the store and ask the salesperson.

I encountered the same problem. The product is not listed on their website but the stores have plenty of them. I hope you find it at the local store.

Myoplex is a good one too. I like the french vanilla in ready to drink cartons. GNC charges much more for them than target or the grocery store though.

So funny you are talking about GNC products. I went to my local store to price what they have and I got a few samples of I believe Myoplex (sp?) I got chocolate and vanilla. The chick there said they are made for body builders so there was 60 grams of Protein in each sample, so i should split it 3 ways so it's only 20 grams of protein per drink.

I tried chocolate this morning and I had to pinch my nose to finish the glass (didn't want to waste money, lol) It is chocolately and mixed well, but the aftertaste was like sweet-n-low. I didn't care for it at all. I know some people swear by there stuff though, so I'd advise getting some samples. The big container of chocolate was $60 bucks and lemme tell ya how glad I am today for not buying it!

I've tried 5-6 different brands and by far the best was unjury, especially the vanilla! Their website has samples also.

Good luck!

Myoplex is definitely cheaper in the grocery stores . . . so it might be worthwhile to get a small amount to taste it.

It tastes OK, not great, not terrible but the amount of Protein is pretty good. It is best to drink it ice cold and I like strawberry better than the other flavors.

I love to shop at GNC and I take advantage of their gold card. I have a very low tolerance for anything that is milk based, so I like the New Whey bullets and the Isopure drinks. My tummy tolerates both.

Went to my GNC for the Max Protein and they did not have it. The lady called other stores and could not find it there either. She said if I had the number off of it, she could get it for me (a 6 digit number). If anyone has it, let me know. Thanks

I use the GNC Whey Isolate 28 powder. It has 28 grams of protein per scoop (1 scoop per 8 oz. of milk) and is low carb. It is usually on sale for $29.99 and the container makes 24 drinks.

I've used the vanilla and the chocolate and thought vanilla was great until I tried the chocolate. After trying the chocolate, I realized the vanilla was very sweet.

I too use the gold card but also keep an eye on Rite Aid because sometimes the sale price is better there and they also let you use the gold card. :cursing:
