Is my band confused?

Recommended Posts

OK haven't been here in a long while, was banded 12/2007. Had 3 fills by April ( 4cc total), too much restriction, PB, vomit, etc, caused some slippage, unfill. Have since been refilling, last one on Oct 24, now at 5cc. Here's my ???. I have always been tight in the morning, now VERY much so. I just take my Unjury shake to the school where I work & by 9 I can drink it down. lunch, , small amounts, no problems, plenty of Water is okay, even some bites of crackers through the day. All is fine. When I get home by 4:30, if I eat (even when REALLY hungry), I am SO TIGHT! I feel stuck, usually throw up, slime, etc. Can I be tighter as my acitivlty level decreaes? I work with perschoolers, so I am up & about all day. Or, is my band not a night owl & prefers food mid morning to late afternoon? I have calls into my Dr, waiting to hear back.

I was banded 12/07 @252.5

Current weight 11/08 @ 186

Many people report being tight in the morning. Drinking a hot beverage (like coffee or tea) seems to help open it up. You might try that.

As for the evening tightness, maybe that is stress related....which also is known to cause tightness. (Preschoolers would definitely make ME stress out!) Again, try some warm tea before your meal. Or you could try some deep breathing/relaxation/meditation to de-stress from your day. Ever tried yoga??? It's AWESOME!

Whilst I have a marked decrease in appetite in the morning from preband, i can eat normally. And at lunch I can eat. I have always been tighter at night.

I have never really had a problem in the morning with being tight, but then again, I tend to eat softer foods in the morning like high Protein oatmeal, soft scrabled eggs and cottage cheese. They all go down easy. I tend to have trouble at night when I eat dense Proteins.< /p>

My band is so finicky...it goes through periods of morning/afternoon tightness. Sometimes I am tight all day until about 7pm when I can eat anything. I don't really have any advice, but I would like to know what your Dr. says. Keep us posted...

My band is tight alot! In the morning and again around suppertime. I can usually eat a few bites at lunch and getting my viatamins and protien is the main goal of the day. I have tried the warm tea to help eat dinner, but usually I end up sliming and pbing the tea? Maybe I need to be unfilled?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
