Not losing

Recommended Posts

I had surgery 1 year ago, have lost 80 lbs. My problem is the weight loss has just about stopped....

I exersize 3-4 times per week about 1 hr cardio and weight.

Ive read about eating 5-6 small meals per day to jump start the metabolism, has any one tried this??

I do tend to snack at night but I don't feel I overdo it...

I started at 385 aqnd am down to 305 but have + or - 5lbs for the last 3 months.

Any suggestions

Guy, I feel your pain, :w00t: I hate it when I stop losing as well. Sometimes I will go back to full low calorie liquids for a week and it jumpstarts my wt loss again.

Also really try getting all your needed Water in, I notice my wt loss halts and stops  if I am not getting all the Water in I need (I usually aim for 80 oz per day).

I am 4 years post lapband and still struggle with night snacking which sabatoges me. If I do eat at night, I try to do no carb, low cal stuff. Good luck and hang in there. You have done great so far.

I started out at 386lbs., I was banded 7/23/08. I was wondering if you still have restriction with your band. I had some time when I was not losing any weight or losing and gaining the same 5lbs. I went in and got another fill from my Dr. I went on clear and full liquids for a few days and it kicked up my weight lose. I dont workout as much as you but i found that when I took it a little easy for a week and let my body get use the weight lose and shock of the big changes my body seemed to start losing and after the rest. I was walking 4 to 5 miles a day. I think it was too much at times and my body needed more recovery time. I'm over 100lbs down now and have a appointment for a fill in the morning. I'm a little concerned because I am still losing weight from my last fill but my restriction isnt as tight as it was. I hope things get better for you and if you dont have restriction right now see if you can get another fill. Have a good one.

Thanks for the encouragement, I'm due for a fill on Dec.15, 6 weeks ago I started having some discomfort in the stomach so the Dr. took a feww cc's out. I guess he should be putting them back next week.

Keep up the good work and hopefully I get back on track

Guy- here are a couple of things that work for me when I it a wall:

1. I kick up the calories for a couple of days - then go back to my normal diet.

2. I kick up the Protein -either thru shakes or those tubes things.

3. I know you said your doing an hour of cardio but I was just reading in Mens Health about doing less cardio with best results - by doing internals - I think it was the May or June issue. You can check it out online

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
