I overeat on the weekends....

Recommended Posts

I don't overeat in the way that I eat more than a serving (1/2 cup) but I do it every couple hours, and get in A LOT more calories than I should.

It's nothing like pre-band, but it's definitely more than I should be doing. I know it's out of boredom.

I am single and live alone, so I am trying to go out and do things and also exercise on the weekends. I swim on Saturday and do yoga on Sunday, and that at least helps create a calorie deficit, but I need some better strategies.

I am staying relatively busy with a social life, but I am still home a lot more on the weekend days- cleaning, doing laundry and so forth. I had plans last night and I have plans for tonight and tomorrow. What do you think I should do? I can't be away from the house all weekend long and busy every minute!

ya know lil'froggy,

i indulge a bit more on the wkend as well. my husband and i have a ranch & just about every wkend we have "guests" - friends or family that want a break from the city. i don't think of it as a bad thing, i workout hard & monitor my eating throughout the wk - that i might have an extra glass of wine or martini......on a sat night, tonite included:wink:

i cook a lot, as well - and nobody can tell my healthy replacements. do you know how many sunday mornings i get up and do a quick run, while everyone is sleeping to balance out what i did?? lots, and that's how i look at the lapband, balance. i don't want to give up EVERYTHING, but realize Portion Control & exercise are key...

don't beat yourself up at all!!!!!

I'm retired, so it's ALWAYS the weekend. The only way I can stop from eating stuff between meals is to not have anything appetizing around. It's easier to say no in the grocery store than it is in the refrigerator. You might try examining what tempts you the most, and then stop buying it!

My other weekend problem is I tend to be social (getting out of the house) but that OFTEN involves food!

I ate out Friday: toppings off of a personal pizza (limited menu at that place)

I ate out Saturday: Lettuce wraps at Vietnamese restaurant (super low cal) but then we were out very late and got pie at like, midnight. I ate the filling of a pecan pie.

I am eating out again today! : Will be going to Thai and getting satay which is just chicken. I always get that now at Thai restaurants.

Anyway, it's all part of the dilemma!

(The good thing is that I usually pick Asian restaurants and only order appetizers. Those things together tend to make this work better, but still!)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
