HELP!!!! I've been burping for hours!

It's past 8:00 pm and I have been burping since 12:00 noon!

I had my first lean cuisine today for lunch (1/2 of it) and a chicken breast for dinner. I tried having some toast with the chicken breast, but immediately felt the stuck feeling after one small bite.

Needless to say, I'm a tad worried. I called the consulting nurse (not the doctor's office) and took two Tums.

Anyone else have this happen?

FYI- The consulting nurse said burping could be a sign of a heart problem!

This has not happened to me, but the last time I met with my nutritionist she told me that alot of people have a hard time with food that is heated in the microwave because it cooks from the inside out and can be to dry to tolerate. She actually recommends when you get to the solid food stage to try and avoid frozen meals because of that reason! I know everyone is different and evey doctor is too.....just wanted to share what i learned with you! I hope this passes soon for you I know how uncomfortable it can be! Good luck!

I agree with Thomas about microwaving. Once you start solids, it's best to avoid "dry" foods like bread. They just end up getting stuck. When I first went on solids, I ate a lot of chunky Soups, canned meat, and of course my Protein shakes. If I wanted chicken, I boiled it with lots of spices - it comes out really moist.

I definitely burp more than I did before the surgery. But I've found that the burping is a sign that I've overeaten or I ate too fast. Another sign for me is if I start to sneeze. Your burping might be because you ate the microwaved meal AND the bread together. Hopefully, your burping will subside soon - Brenda
