What about sweet tea???

I know there are some southerners out there who love sweet tea! I've been a diet soda drinker for the most part over the last few years, and when I switched to diet sodas I cut out sweet tea since it's got so much sugar in it. Well, now they've got Splenda, and since I'm being banded I won't be able to have sodas anymore, so I'd like to switch back to sweet tea to get my caffeine (and avoid those horrible caffeine-withdrawal headaches).

I know there's got to be an easy way to make sweet tea with Splenda. Anyone have any suggestions? I've never actually used Splenda in such a large quantity, so I'm not sure how it converts. I've always just used one or two packets in a cup of coffee.

Advice on how to make a gallon of sweet tea with Splenda? Can I use one of those Iced Tea Makers?

I use splenda in my tea. It measres cup for cup just like sugar, I use about 1/2-3/4 cup of splenda depending on the size of the picture I am making. I use decaf tea bags because my doctor does not like for us to have alot of caffeine, it is a diuretic and can cause you to become dehydrated if you have to much of it. I still have my one cup of coffie every AM. And when I am out I drink tea with caffeine, I like to go to McDonalds and get a Unsweet tea and add splenda.

You can buy boxes of Splenda (not in packs) and it measures just like sugar. I use about a cup for 3 quarts. It works really well.

i replaced my "sweet tea" fix for an arnold palmer.

it's half nonsweetened tea and half SF lemonade = crystal light. sounds utterly weird but when i have a sweet tea craving this is what i do now....diet cokes are a thing of the past:rolleyes:

Does it come out sweet enough, or do you still have to add spenda or some other sweetner to it?
