Night Coughing ?????

I had my lap band surgery 1 year and 3 months ago. I have recently been having coughing at night. Every night. I mean when I lay down it starts immediately and no matter how I lay I cough until I get up.

I lost right at 100 pounds but at what cost if I can't get any rest. Please anyone have any advice. I've tried propping up the pillows. I don't eat hours before bed. I'm just at my wits end.

Thanks

Carl

Why do you cough? Is it acid reflux, or allergies? Makes a difference of course; may be the band, maybe not!

Chances are very good that you may need an unfill. If you are not having problems PB'ing, but doing the coughin, you may be on the edge. I was overfilled and was having horrible night coughing and waking up ready to vomit with lots of acid. The minute I got an unfill it went away. You need to call your doctor. I tried to "stick it out" and suffered for two months before I gave up and went and got the unfill. I'll never do that again.

OMG, I thought this was just me. I have since about a week after surgery had the urge to cough pretty much everytime I lay down. I get up and try to sleep on the couch, take a walk at 11 pm to think it will help. Once I prop myself on pillows or lay on the couch I seem to do ok and out like a light.

I do not even have a fill yet and I feel no restriction when i eat. Granted even though I do not feel restriction I am not pushing myself to eat more than the dr told me as I do NOT want to ever get that feeling. blah

you may have a bit of reflux that is being aspirated into your lungs - triggering an "asthma" cough - you should see your GP.

I have recently had terrible night coughing and day coughing as well. It affects my work even. My last fill was 6 months ago with a little bit of reflux after. the coughing has only started about 3 weeks ago. Any ideas?? I am a bit desperate as can't keep this up and also going overseas.
