Hi..

I have a 21 year old daughter in the Winchester VA area who is getting ready to be banded in Nov. We are all so nervous for her, and she is really nervous. I have been trying to get her to register on this website for some support. Until then, would anyone be willing to email her if I give her address and give her some words of encouragement?

If she is not comfortable getting online, she may want to get some books. They had several at my public library and I purchased some at Amazon.com. They are great resources and most books include various personal accounts of different people's personal experiences, as well as a lot of information about the surgery. There is also a lot of information on youtube.com. She can watch peoples videos about their lap band journeys. They are very informative.

I understand your nervousness as my 20 yo had the RNY last May and not a day goes by that I don't worry, it's normal. She would not go on line either so anytime I was worried or there was a situation I went to a different forum that had RNYs also and they were very supportive and helpful to me.
