Colace before Surgery??!?

OMG!

Please tell me that I didn't just blow it! I just took a Colace 100mg. I am on clear liquids all day tommorrow & surgery is scheduled for 8:30am Tuesday morning. I've finished packing and we are set to drive out to Michigan in the morning. I'm sitting down re-reading my paperwork and its telling me no advil, and other stuff. Doesn't mention colace... but is this a deal breaker before surgery?

Please tell me if I need to tell my surgeon I took these - or do you think I'll be okay 24 hrs away? What was I thinking?

You should be fine; you may tell your surgeon just to be sure but you'll be ok. Doesn't he have you doing a special preop diet of some sort? I had to drink magnesium citrate, for example...

The day before my surgery I was on clear liquids drank mag citrate 4 ducolox and a bottle of miralax. I don't know the difference between all my stuff and colace but I don't think it will hurt.

Thank you! Thank you!

I'll rest a bit easier now.

I did the same thing on purpose. I am still taking it daily. Last thing I wanted to do was be straining on the pot with all those sutures. I knew from being pregnant that Colace was a gentle laxative. I am Sure you will be fine! Good luck on your surgery! Tamara
