port area sore

I've had my band for almost a year now. Just in the past few days it has gotten sore. My port is just below my belly button, and I wonder if it is possible that I've just bruised the area while working out? It's not a great pain, but it hurts slightly when I bend over and I feel it while I'm sitting down.

Has anyone else experienced their port hurting so long after their operation?

Thanks,

Mary

It doesn't seem to be red at all. I've bumped it bofore and given myself a bruise, but this is different. I'm thinking of going for a small fill after Thanksgiving (Canadian) so I will ask them about it if it is still hurting then. May also ask them anyway even if it isn't!

Thanks,

Mary

I have had that, I am not really sure what happende, but I was doing a little gardening , and boom lots of pain in the port area. I was not red so I thiught because I was bending over it might have bother it. Well the next day it was much better and by the evening it wes gone. I do also get pain if I carry something that is heavy, I don't do that anymore:rolleyes2:

When I went for a fill, I asked the fill nurse if she'd heard of that and she looked at me like I was crazy! She said "no, it shouldn't hurt so long after surgery". But like you said Yasmina, it hurt for a day or two and then it went away again. I do tend to balance things (heavy things) on my stomach when I'm carrying them, and that's where my port is. So I either shifted it during exercise of was doing something silly like that. Either way, the pain went away after a couple of days.

Thanks for the replies.
