Well i had to stop the pill 2 months before surgery and I was wondering when can I start it again? I called and left a message for my doctor but as for doctors it could be a couple of days before I hear anything.

I had to stop my estrogen pill 3 weeks before surgery and my surgeon told me not to take it for a month after surgery. Something to do with danger of blood clots.

My doctor told me that I could start back on my pill right after sugery. I just waited until I had my first period. To be safe, since we know every doctor is different, I would call the doctor's office again to see what they say.

The nurse told me that I have to wait until my 8 week check up to ask the doctor if it is okay....Sh*t!

This is the first time I have heard of having to stop the pill.

I sure didn't have to, they brang me my normal medication when I was in hospital so I didn't forget.

I didn't have to stop mine .

My doctor said that it can cause blood clots and it is just for safety....I am dying to get back on it.....

Ring your Doctor and see if you can take it again. Their main concern with blood clots is when you are lying in the hospital bed and not moving, that's why I had those massage things on my legs to keep the blood moving around. Now that your up and active I dont think they would advise you still cant take your medication, but who knows, check it out.

this is interesting. i get the depo shot every three months. in fact i got my last shot a week or so before surgery...no one said a word. good luck!!
