Question about powder shakes for pre-op

Has anyone used or does anyone know if its okay to use Herbal Life shake powder for the pre-op diet. I 'm getting banded on 9/19/08, per the MD instruction I just need to fast a day before (just clear liquids), but I asked one of the nurses if i need to do anything else, she said to drink two protein shakes and a sensible lunch/dinner the week prior...that means I have to start on Friday! I'm just not sure of what shake to use..I have a whole container of shake (cookies n cream..yummie) that I had bought from Herbal Life...would that be okay to take????:) thanks

If they are low carb, sugar free, and fairly high in protein (17 g or more) then yes, I'd say so, especially since they didn't give you a specific one to use.

yeah you just need to ask your doc or look at the papers they gave you....they told me something to the effect of ....

17-22 grams Protein

under 5 grams sugar

under 15 grams carbs

watch your fat to ...i think its like under 4 or 5 grams

and all that jazz

i am using Mega Protein i think thats the name it is WONDERFUL!

its also Cookies and cream and i mix with water...tastes just like a milkshake!
