Fills through BCBSIL?

Has anyone had fills covered through BCBSIL? If you did, how were they handled? I tried to ask them about it, but I am not sure the person I talked to understood what I was asking. They said something about another letter of medical necessity.:frown: That just didn't sound right. Any responses will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Are they paying for your lapband surgery?? If they pay for the surgery they should pay for fills. Of course there are no guarantees from a company that can call a sleep study cosmetic!!!!!

They are paying for the surgery. I got concerned when I asked about fills, they didn't seem to know what I was talking about. I know that I need good restriction for this to help and don't want to get into one of those situations where they say just having the surgery is enough. When I worded it as adjustments to the band, the response was the letter of necessity before it could be done. I know this company is weird about things, but that just sounded completely off the wall.

I had this insurance pay for the lap band on july 29th. I had my first fill yesterday and they have been waiting for a decision from the insurance company for over 2 weeks. So,in the meantime, I had to pay for the fill myself which was 250.00. I havn't gone so far as to call the insurance myself yet. Perhaps I should be as aggressive as I was with them before I got the procedure.
