It's been a week today......

Hi everyone.

Since monday I've been on liquids such as cream Soups and smoothies and I always seem to have a bad taste in my mouth , was wondering if anybody else has the same problem. I'm not feeling too much hunger which is good, but I'm missing the chewing part. Hope things keep going o.k.

:tongue2:

I too had a horrible taste in my mouth until I started drinking "enough" water. Ok so it's not as much as I was drinking pre-surgery, but I'm doing WAY better. Had surgery the same day as you.

I had a bad taste that came and went during my preop...It occured when you started to get Ketosis....drinking more water is supposed to help!! They also suggested during the preop to chew Chewing Gum but there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY I will do that again given the stories I've read of Chewy getting stuck! So I say drink more Water. See if that helps and if it doesn't you may want to call your doc because I don't know how healthy it would be for your body to be having ketosis for an extended period of time.

Me too my husband isn't too happy about that  anyway, it is because you are probably in Ketosis (spelling????) that means your body is burning fat, just brush your teeth more often and your tonge too, drink lots of Water, it will pass once you start eating food and chewing.

Hi

I've been drinking more and the bad taste in my mouth is not as bad.

What is this thing about gum getting stuck..... I'm still not suffering too much hunger and that's quite o.k. I'm trying not to weight myself more than once a week as I don't want to become obsessed. I was having trouble with my blood pressure it was too low but today I'm feeling better I'm even doing some house cleaning.

Have a nice day:wink_smile:
