Low Blood Pressure

I am not being banded until 9/23 but have started to ease myself into the 2 week pre-op diet because I have always had a problem with low blood pressure. In fact, one time at the doctors the nurse kept switching bp cuffs because she could not get my pressure. Obviously I had one, I was sitting there talking to her! Anyway, sure enough, today is my 5th day on my pseudo-diet (not even the real thing yet) and out I went. The problem occurs primarily in the am. I have passed out before if I did not eat breakfast and had a late lunch. What should I do? I go see the nutritionist again on 9/16 and see my surgeon on 9/8. Should I just mention this to both. I actually have it better than some. I am allowed a shake or bar for breakfast and lunch, a small piece of fruit for snack, dinner is 4 oz. of lean meat and vegetable. I am doing the breakfast and lunch right now and eating a normal dinner except for no starch. So basically, more than 4 oz. and more vegetables than the pre-op diet. And I also eat a snack in the evening (sf jello, veggie, etc.) I don't want them to think I am trying to get out of the pre-op diet so maybe I better keep my mouth shut and hope for the best. Any suggestions/opinions?

You should call your Doc., it is never normal to pass out. Have you ever checked your blood sugar? If eating something helps, it sound more like a blood sugar problem than a blood pressure problem. As far as I know eating does not increase your blood pressure, drinking large quantities can increase your blood pressure. I would definitely call your Doc. Good luck to you!
