August 25, 200817 yr Hello May bandsters. I wanted to know how everyone else feels when the needle is pulled out after your fill. I feel a pull and a pop in my throat. Makes me want to vomit.
August 25, 200817 yr I don't feel anything. Matter of fact, I had to ask if he was done last time :smile2:
August 25, 200817 yr Author Maybe it depends where your port is. Mine is right above my belly button.
August 26, 200817 yr Mine's a few inches below my right breast. When I stand, it sticks out like a hernia!!
August 27, 200817 yr Yep, that's what they said in my pre-op class. So in our last support grp mtg, I stood up and showed the nurse who said it as well as asked if anybody else had it the same way. No one responded! My PA said once I lose more in my tummy area, it could shift and move back in some. We shall see. And I also plan on asking my surgeon when I see him in Oct. Until then, I get a kick out of letting people feel it when they reply "Are you serious?" when i tell them I got the band (upon them asking me how I'm losing the weight, that is).
August 27, 200817 yr Oh witchbabe, forgot to mention to you, I'm a nurse too and it could be the person is not holding the plunger down on the needle while withdrawing it from your port, causing a "suction" as it is, which would could be causing those feelings.
September 14, 200817 yr My first two fills didn't hurt at all...but this last one felt very uncomfortable. Also...my port has always been quite noticable. It gets more and more pronounced as I lose weight.
September 16, 200817 yr Oh my Lunabeane...mine is too after all!! I'll be curious to hear what Dr. A has to say when I see him in a few wks. "GO PORTS!!"
