220 pounds to lose

Hi guys, This is my first post on this site. I have yet to be banded but Sep 9 is my tenative surgery date . I am very excited, this was something I put a lot of thought in to. People always ask me if I am nervous and my answer is always no. I am not scared at all, I just feel this excitment because I know my life is going to change for the better.

Wish me luck!

good luck traysaq that is a great attitude to have. me i have not been banded either. and i to have alot of weight to lose. but, i feel that i can do. yes i do feel scared but, if i dont do it im scared i will die and the thought of not being around for my kids scares me more. keep me posted on how every thing is going. tell me some thing are you reading any books? i think i want to buy this book called the lapband companion.

best of luck traysag.

Take it one day at a time and slow from the beginning. There is lots of advice to be had from some folks here who have been through it. I know I relied on them throughout this first year for me.

Keep the good attitude, which I believe is 90% of the battle...the other 10% is remembering this surgery isn't the end all, be all - but rather a tool for you to use on your journey to better health.

Good-Luck to all getting their bands! It is really a blessing and the best weight loss tool I have ever found!

Rock on! Congrats on your journey - it will be worth it!

At the start of everything I had 249 lbs to lose now I have 223 lbs to lose. You'll do good no worries and good luck! My surgery is sometime in November!

I schelduled my for sure surgery date and it is Septmeber 25, a lil over 3 weeks to go! I am so excited.

Thanks for all the support!

I started with 200 pounds to lose and now, after three months, have 145 pounds to lose. It is difficult to keep focused on the little steps. I think it's human nature to want to have it all RIGHT NOW!!! But I do my best "work" when I concentrate on the lap band guidelines and set little goals. Right now that is to break the momentous 300 pound mark.

To all of you who are just starting out good luck! Take it slow and you will succeed.
