Possible tax write off

Since Obesity is such a growing health concern, it has been stated that with obesity weight loss surgery, we may be eligible for a tax write off. I'm also wondering if the purchase of fitness equipment falls into that same category? Anyone work for the IRS or is an accountant that may know the answer to this question? :)
