Hi,

My name is Laurie and I have decided to have lap-band surgery. I had my inital consult and started going to the required classes, etc.

Just wanted to write and hopefully will get lots of good advice from people who are going through the same things.

Laurie I just wanted to say welcome to LBT. I wish you lots of luck on the start of your banded journey. You will be so glad you had this done. Research all you can and if I can help please let me know.

Tell us more about your self. We are all family and want to get to know you better. Where ya from? How much weight are you wanting to lose? ect....

Keep us posted on your progress and your upcoming band date!!

Hi,

I am 43 years old and live between Boston and Cape Cod. I have three kids and a great husband. I also own a real estate company so I am very busy!

I started gaining weight after I had my kids... Never stopped gaining except for the yo yo dieting that I have been doing for ten years. Now I am 251 pounds which is about 100 pounds overweight. I do not want to have bad health later in life. Too much to do and see!

That is about it in a nutshell. I am just starting this process so I am attending the classes and support groups that are required. I have my medical consult this Wednesday. I have to lose 12-25 pounds first and I am having a tough time getting started. Today is Monday and I am going to really try and not cheat so that I can continue on with my life.
