Time line at NYU

I'm so excited t find an NYU board! I'm still pre-op, and I can't wait to get things going. I've attended the seminar, I've had the psych eval, and I'll be seeing the nurse/nutritionist the first week of September.

How long does it take from seeing the nurse/nutritionist to consulting with Dr. Fielding? And until the surgery? I just want a rough idea of when I mighht get banded already. Can ya tell I'm losing patience?

Hi:

I was going with Dr. Ren and I had been scheduled about six weeks after the nutritionist visit to see Dr. Ren. Fortunately, I was called from the office and they asked me if I wanted to move up the date and I could see Dr. Kurian on the same day as the nutritionist.

In the interim I had gone to another seminar at NYU with a friend of mine and Dr. Kurian was the one who delivered the lecture and I was impressed. I was fine with changing from Dr. Ren to Dr. Kurian. Even with moving up my consult, I won't be banded until August 28th because of other issues that cropped up.

Trite as it may read, what I'm trying to say is that this journey takes its own time. Some bits are fast and some bits have real life interruptions and then you just slow down.

LOL!!! I am getting ready for my second round of liquid pre-op preparation.

Thanks for the reply. Dr. Kurian has a loyal following among her patients. I'm sure she'll do a great job. Good luck on your pre-op diet!

I wanted to use Dr. Fielding and dh is using Dr. Ren he was able to get his consult a week faster then I was but truthfully he needs the surgery before me b/c of his health.
