Airport Security

I know that this has probably been posted before but I always have a heck of a time searching/finding an answer.

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Anyway, I’ll be traveling to Disney in September :) and I was wondering if anyone has encountered any issues at the airport? When I spoke to my doctor yesterday, he explained to me that there is titanium in the lap band and that when I go through the airport security it shouldn’t set anything off. Has anyone had this issue going through security if so what did you do? I also asked my doctor for a medical card stating that I had the procedure but for some reason they don’t give them out, kind of strange when you actually have a device in you. I mean what if something happened who would let them know that I have one????:confused2:

Thanks,

Jenn

.....now an underwire bra....maybe but not the lapband.......

I once had a TSA agent grab the wire between the cups of my bra when the wand made me beep. I have a fairly good sized chest; she had none.

She shakes it a little and says, "What is this?"

I said, "Underwire," looked at her chest, and asked, "Heard of it?"

My fiance (now ex husband) was laughing so hard he forgot to grab his bag off the conveyor belt.

The lap band has not been an issue, and I have gone through three different airports since I was banded.

I just love the fact that I can find the answer on this website to ANY question related to the lap band. I had the security lap band question and totally found my answer here. BTW, I'm also a card carrying bander. My surgeon gave me one with my band's brand name, his name and phone number.:)

I go through a metal detector in Court at least once a week, and it has never beeped on me when I was carrying anything not allowed. (I'm allowed to pass with things banned to the general public since I'm an officer of the Court.) Usually I bypass the arch, but I do go through it when I'm in a hurry. I've even been wanded, and it has never gone off on my band.

I have a traveling job so I fly all the time. I have never set off the metal detector at the airport. HOWEVER, when I went to the Olympics I set off the metal wand. The girl working touched my stomach (I was less than a month post-op) and I jumped, she jumped and I walked on by her.
