question?

Hi Everyone, I am 8 days post op, and I'm having trouble with loose or liquid bowel moments, I know that isn't something anyone likes to talk about but I need to know if this is normal. Thanks for your help.

I am assuming you are currently on a liquid diet...and if you are this is why your BM's are loose or runny. I had to be on liquid 1 week pre-op then 2 weeks post op before I was able to have mushies. So when you are taking in all liquids, thats pretty much all that is going to come out too. Hope I helped. Good luck!

I also had this problem for the first week after surgery, I think part of it was from the antibiotics (the type I was taking was liquid). Because as soon as I was done with it, the diarrhea stopped.

Hang in there it does get better !

I had the same problem post op when I was on liquids my surgeon's nutritionist told me to take Metamucil. It really helped, and once I started mushies the problem stopped.

i think its normal for everyone in the beginning stages

I can't thank you all enough for your responses. I wasn't even thinking, of course I'm on a liquid diet, what did I think was going to happen lol. Sorry I was obviously not thinking. :w00t:
