Why Mushies?

I know this has probably been answered a million times before but.... Why do the docs recommend mushies? What is the difference if you eat reg food and chew it a billion times? How long are most people having to stay on mushies? I am doing the mushies and finding it hard to eat all my food because I recon I eat based on the appearance of the food. So after eating about half of my little portion I get bored. Does any one have any insight into any of this.:scared2:

My nut says it is so the band can heal and scar tissue can heal. You shouldn't be eating food that could cause you to throw up or work the band too hard.

Besides, its a small price to pay for weight loss!

2 more weeks of mushies for me!

I read that it was for healing too. the stomach is always contracting and expanding, even for liquids, so you need to keep it at a minimum so the band can "seat" in place and not move when it has to digest a "real" meal.
