I was just banded on 7/15/08. Great experience. Was done at NWWLC in Washington. Am doing a lot of burping. Soreness is minimal. Doctor wanted me to lose 10 pounds prior but only lost 7 lbs. Am on a liquid diet for 1 week then soft foods. I walk about 40 min. a day. Have now lost 12 lbs total. Greatest news is that I accidentally knocked off my port to my insulin pump. Decided to see what happens to BG levels when not using it. Guess what! I don't think that I need to be on insulin anymore. My levels are staying where they should be. Hope it all stays that way. When I start on more solid foods, I don't expect it to change as long as I eat the way I am suppose to- protein/veg/fruits/carbs. I figure there won't be much carbs when I need to eat protein first. I am using "medifast" shakes until soft foods. The clinic gave me a duffle bag to put my clothes in during surgery. They have you keep that and the booties. That has got to be the most expensive duffle bag I have ever bought! I better enjoy it. Love this forum. JuneR:tt1:
